The problem of a pimple

I am sure this has happened with many of you. You look in the mirror, and there it is! You are working and as usual rubbing a finger on your cheek and there it is!

What am I talking about? A pimple of course! Pimples are the bane of most teenagers' lives. Remember one of those pimple cream/face wash ads? Where the girl tries to hide her face in all possible ways? That's what happens in teenage years.

But adults are not completely immune to these face defining buggers (why face defining? - well, once you have a pimple, there is not much else that anyone is going to notice, is there?). We get them, and they become the focus - of our face and sometimes even our life.

By God's grace, I did not suffer too badly in my teenage years. I did get pimples, but thankfully not a breakout on my entire face. But even a singe pimple can bring one to tears, and I was no better!

Now the breakouts are much lesser. Generally a couple of pimples, especially "un dino mein" (in those days - if you know what I mean!). But a zit is a zit. It makes you conscious of the ugly growth on your face. When I have a pimple, no matter how nicely I am dressed, I feel I do not look good. Which is certainly not a good feeling for a fashion blogger, right? And I am not very big in makeup - I do not use foundation, compact powder or concealer. So when I have a pimple, it really shows!

Outfit of the Day - Republic Day

On January 26 every year, India celebrates the Republic Day. Republic Day honors the date on which the Constitution of India came into force. There is a marvelous parade  in New Delhi (the capital of India) before the President on this day. Its a national holiday and the entire country celebrates by hoisting the Indian flag.

There were celebrations in many locations in my neighbourhood. Along with Independence day, this day brings out the patriotism in the whole country. Its a lovely feeling to see the solidarity of the people on this day :-)

Many people dress up in the colours of the Indian flag on Republic Day - saffron which indicates strength and courage, white which indicates peace and truth and green which indicates fertility, growth and auspiciousness. And in the centre is the blue Ashoka Chakra which has 24 spokes and represents the wheel of dharma (duty).

I also decided to dress up in the flag colours - wearing a kurta which has the 3 colours (saffron, white and green) and a blue churidar. I went totally traditional with a saffron bindi and small jhumkis in my ears.

So do you like my outfit?
Wishing a Happy Republic Day to all Indians :-)

Outfit of the day - Blue polka

I wanted to make a 'Colour in Formals' post with this dress. But when I paired this dress with a cream necklace and grey heels, I loved the effect so much that I decided to forgo on the colour :)

The only is through my lips - a nice cherry pink - though this is not very visible in the pics. I paired the dress with a white and green purse with a chain strap and I was done.

So what do you think of this outfit? Like it?

Outfit of the Day - Mix of prints

I have not put up a post for 17 days!!!! :-O .. Sorry for that. The beginning of the year has been really hectic at work. Hoping the pressure eases soon!

While mixing prints has been trending for quite some time, I have never tried it. Was not sure whether I would be able mix prints in an attractive manner, or would end up with a hilarious outfit :-D

So I started out small this weekend. My skirt has a geometric print at the bottom, while my top is floral print. This might not be a very obvious mix of prints, but I was glad to at least start on the trend. Who knows, I might become more bold in the future :-)

So what do you think of this outfit? Does it work?

In today's post, I am sharing the dress I wore during the day. Its a polka dotted dress I got from Korea. I kept the look simple with the only color on my lips. Near the end, I have shared some pics taken at home to celebrate my birthday ... had so much fun during the shoot ;-)

So what do you think? Do you like the look? I will share my night look in another post.
